Biro's 'love affair' with the Fender Rhodes electric piano has led him to develop new sound exploration techniques for the instrument. As well as his on-going experimentation as an improviser, Biro has been working as a sound-designer for several installations and inter-disciplinary events. He is involved in on-going research into real-time interactive technologies which have led to the development of new performance interface systems linking, for example, dancers' movements to score generating for live musicians (see eMerge). Together with ex-Blue Elephant Theatre director Antonio Ribeiro he has recently set up the Ambient Arts Agency to research and develop environmental arts installations in public spaces such as galleries, shops, museums, supermarkets, hotels etc.
Overall, Biro's interests focus on the intersection between new generative compositional structures, recent scientific theories (Chaos, Complexity, Emergence) and spirituality. | |
