Peter Boonstra est né au Pays-Bas en 1970. Après sa formation de second degré, il fait une année de formation en musique et photographie au Skjeberg Folk Highschool en Norvège. De 1989 à 1996, il étudie le design audiovisuel à la St Joost Academy of Visual Arts à Breda. Les travaux menés pour son examen final ont reçu le 'St Joost Penning', prix annuel récompensant le diplomé le plus prometteur. Il travaille depuis comme cinéaste indépendant. Ses films sont caractérisés par des histoires fragmentées, accompagnées de bandes sont composées expérimentalement. Les images choisies très soigneusement ont presque la même qualité sensuelle que le son. Peter Boonstra fait partie du groupe FLIM FILM, composé de quatre cinéastes. camac et FLIM FILM ont travaillé sur un projet d'une année (1999 - 2000) sur la création d'un film qui réfléchit à la rencontre entre esprits créatifs. Peter Boonstra was born in Holland in 1970. After attaining his second degree, he attended the Skjeberg Folk High School in Norway, where he studied both music and photography. From 1989 to 1996, he studied audiovisual design at the St.Joost Academy of Visual Arts in Breda. He was awarded the 'St. Joost Penning Award' for his final examination works. This is an annual prize given to the most promising graduate. Since his graduation, he has been working as an independant film maker. His films are caracterised for his fragmented stories, accompanied by experimental bands. The images that are chosen carefully have almost the same sensual quality as the sound. Peter Boonstra is part of the the FLIM FILM group made up of 4 film makers. camac and FLIM FILM collaborated on a one year project (1999-2000) that created a film that reflects upon the meeting of creative spirits. This artist documentary is a study of the creative process.
