WEB INFO

 Travel , time and place  is an important element in the work and each place has an essence  or spirit  that reflects  what is felt and experienced ;   Recent move to large  cities has resulted in images depicting surroundings; communities and the density of city life; Because of the lack of space, earlier work  is small in scale and is presented in a modular format;
The residency at Camac, Marnay sur-Seine, has been a very inspiring and creative experience  for the artiist  whose life and art  is one with the other; The 1-2  hour walk daily, experiencing the physical activity as well as the reflective mood  of the place has initiated a striking contrast to the earlier work  and it is this contrast of urban:/rural that is depicted in the work at Camac Art Centre:  The large open spaces , colours and  layers  has provided a sharp contrast to the earlier work in which scale and space is predominant. The work can be viewed from many angles  inside/outside, on/off the wall;

The well-lit  large studios at Camac Art Centre; the people and community of this charming old village , the excellent food and wines and the place have all contributed to the new body of work.
